Beliefs

1. Bible

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as being verbally inspired and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (Matthew 5:17, 18; Luke 24:27, 44; John 10:35; II Timothy 3:16).

2. God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18, 19; Mark 12:29; John 6:27; Acts 5:3,4; Hebrews 1:8).

3. Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is a separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed (Genesis 1:26, 2:17; 6:5; Psalms 14:1-3, 51:5; Romans 3:10-19, 8:6,7; Ephesians 2:1-3).

4. Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man (Matthew 1:16; 20-25; Luke 2:40, 52; Luke 7:48; John 11:35; Philippians 2:5-8).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood (John 1:29; 3:16; Romans 3:25, 26).

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and His present life for us as High Priest and Advocate (John 20:20; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25; I John 2:1).

We believe in ”That blessed hope,” the personal, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (John 14:1-3; I Corinthians 15:51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

5. Salvation

We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God, a relationship in which they are eternally secure (John 1:12, 10:28-30; Acts 16:31; Romans 8:28-39; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5).

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (Luke 16:19-26; John 5:25-29; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15).

6. The Church

We believe in the Church, a spiritual organism made up of all believers (past and present) united with Christ through the Holy Spirit.  The Church is the body and bride of Christ, expressed locally in gathered congregations for the purpose of declaring the praises of God and making disciples of all nations.  As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to identify with Him in baptism and remember His death in the Lord’s supper. (Matthew 16:16-18; I Cor. 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:38-47; I Corinthians 11:23-26; Ephesians 1:11-14; Matthew 28:18-20)

7. Marriage & Family

We believe God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman as an earthly portrait of His eternal covenant love for His people and that all intimate sexual activity outside of the marriage relationship, heterosexual, homosexual or otherwise, distorts that portrait of His pure and enduring love. (Gen 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14; Matt. 19:4-6; Rom 1:18-31; 1Cor 6:9-10)
