Elementary Memory Verses

Bible Memory Verse Challenge
1st – 6th Grades
Purpose: To help students learn and retain God’s Word.
Format: We will offer one new verse every month on a 48 month rotation. The goal is for students to be able to learn the verses and have incentives to continue to repeat the same ones. There is more encouragement to learn some verses and keep them for life as opposed to learning many verses but quickly forgetting. Students can always pick any from the list and start off learning those that are easiest for them. We will focus monthly on the current memory verse but any verses can be learned and repeated at any time.
Current incentives:
· When a verse is learned the student receives a collector card for that verse.
· Every child that can repeat 3 of our verses to a leader on Sunday will receive a personalized collector case. All 3 need to be repeated correctly on the first try in order to earn the collector case. A child can attempt this every week until they can achieve it.
· Every memorized verse can be repeated every Sunday as time and leaders are available. Students will earn one Bible Buck for each verse repeated.
List of Verses and month/year introduced. We use the New International Version (NIV) but students may memorize in another version.
